Within the academic structure of UNAG, the Faculty of Technological Sciences (FCT) is constituted as a set of interrelated policies, strategies, processes and projects, to responsibly meet the demands of each of its tasks; teaching, research, liaison, academic/administrative management and production; with the fundamental purpose of assuming the management of knowledge in the areas of food technology, industrial technology, energy and mining technology, and technological processes, and thus contribute to finding viable solutions to the problems of poverty, hunger, health, welfare and education of society in general.

Academic Food Department (DAA)
The Academic Department of Food is the unit dedicated to the study of food science, through teaching, research and liaison with society, in order to propose innovative solutions based on science and technology to enhance the positive impacts and reduce the negative effects on the food sector in Honduras. Its main areas of action are fruits and vegetables; grains and cereals; dairy products; meat and meat products; aquaculture products; food and nutritional safety; food quality and safety, among others. The lines of research of this academic department of food are:
- Food from non-conventional plant species
- Phytochemistry of food plants (bioactive compounds)
- Postharvest handling of fruits and vegetables
- Food safety and quality
- Development of foods based on grains, cereals and pseudocereals.
- Food and nutritional security
- Development and conservation of aquaculture products

The Academic Department of Engineering and Processes is an academic setting whose main objective is to contribute effectively to national development by carrying out teaching, applied research and development activities linked to the challenges of companies and institutions, market demands and requirements of society. Fruit and vegetable processing and packaging plant
The Fruit and Vegetable Plant is a center for learning, research, innovation and processing of fruits and vegetables. It is a place where UNAG's learning-by-doing is developed in the subject related to vegetable food.
Dairy processing plant
The dairy processing plant is a center for learning, research, innovation and processing of milk and dairy products. It is the place where UNAG's learning-by-doing is developed in the area of dairy products.
Bioprocess plant
The bioprocess plant is an academic section dedicated to the use of cellular catalytic activity to modify or transform raw materials into products for the fermentation, food and agricultural industries. It is currently dedicated to the production of ethanol from sugar cane. It is the place where UNAG's learning-by-doing in bioprocesses is developed.
A water purification plant and a grain and cereal processing plant are currently under construction at the School of Technological Sciences.
